Tunnel Engineering has provided structural assessment and specialist engineering support for several Thames Water infrastructure assets delivered by Galliford Try.
Our work has included the inspection and assessment of existing reinforced-concrete water-treatment structures. The services have included:
- Review of existing drawings and technical information
- Detailed visual inspection and defect mapping
- Non-destructive and intrusive investigation
- Concrete coring and laboratory testing
- Assessment of cracking, reinforcement condition and concrete deterioration
- Structural analysis and finite-element modelling
- Evaluation of residual structural condition
- Development of remedial recommendations
- Technical reporting and engineering support
The work required the findings from site inspections, material testing and structural analysis to be combined into practical recommendations for the future use, modification and loading of the existing assets.
