Course Overview
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) – CITB Site Safety Plus
The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a five day course designed for construction professionals responsible for managing and supervising projects on site. It provides essential knowledge and practical understanding of how to plan, monitor and control work safely in line with current legislation and industry best practice.
This SMSTS course helps site managers, agents, project managers and business owners understand their legal responsibilities for health, safety, welfare and environmental protection on construction and civil engineering projects. It is one of the most widely recognised health and safety qualifications in the UK construction industry and is part of the CITB Site Safety Plus framework.
Through the Site Management Safety Training Scheme, delegates learn how to implement safe systems of work, develop effective risk assessments and method statements, and manage teams in a safe, efficient and compliant manner. The course encourages strong leadership, effective communication and the promotion of a positive safety culture on site.
