All courses delivered by TE Training Academy are subject to quality assurance checks. Please note:

Internal Verification: Courses are selected at random for internal quality assurance (IQA), this process helps maintain our high standards.

CITB Quality Checks: Once we submit your results to CITB for certification, CITB may also carry out their own quality checks.

Certificate Release: Your qualification is not confirmed until CITB has issued your electronic certificate.

All CITB Site Safety Plus certificates are issued electronically only.

If you attended your course with TE Training Academy, we keep a secure electronic copy of your certificate, which we can provide upon request.

You can also use the CITB Online Card Checker as official proof of your certification.

If you need an official replacement certificate, you can contact CITB directly. Please note that this is likely to incur a charge.

Yes, funding may be available, but it depends on your circumstances:

CITB Grants for Employers: If you are employed by a CITB-registered company, your employer can claim a short course grant for most Site Safety Plus (SSP) courses.

Employer Network Funding: Some CITB Employer Networks offer up to 70% funding for training costs, meaning your employer only pays 30%.  When contacting a CITB Employer Network to make a booking, please specify TE Training Academy as your preferred training provider.

Eligibility: To access funding, your employer must be CITB-registered and use a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) like TE Training Academy. Grants are paid to employers, not individuals.

Individuals: CITB does not usually provide direct funding to individuals for SSP courses. If you are self-employed, you may still benefit if you are registered with CITB and meet their criteria.

NVQ Courses

An NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) is a work-based qualification that assesses your competence in a specific job role. It is based on real work activities rather than classroom exams, making it ideal for experienced professionals who want formal recognition of their skills.

NVQs are assessed through a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your ability to meet the required standards. Evidence can include:

  • Work products (documents, plans, reports)

  • Assessor observations (often via video)

  • Professional discussions

  • Witness testimonies

There are no written exams – assessment is based on your actual work.

No. NVQs are delivered remotely and assessed in the workplace. You will have an assessor who supports you throughout the process, usually via an online platform.

The duration depends on your experience and the availability of evidence. Most NVQs take:

  • Up to 6–12 months for Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications

  • 9–18 months for Level 6 qualifications
You can progress at your own pace.

There are no formal entry requirements. However, you must:

  • Be working in a role that allows you to demonstrate the required competencies.

  • Have sufficient experience to provide evidence for assessment.
An initial skills assessment will identify any gaps before you start.

You will have:

  • A dedicated assessor

  • Access to an online portfolio system

  • Regular feedback and progress tracking
Support is tailored to your needs throughout the qualification.

  • Industry-recognised qualification

  • Demonstrates competence and compliance with industry standards

  • Enhances career prospects and earning potential
For information on how NVQs relate to CSCS cards, visit the official https://www.cscs.uk.com.

Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be used to reduce duplication and speed up completion.

No. NVQs are assessed around your normal work activities, so you can complete the qualification without disrupting your job.
